This section focuses on two groups of records found in the Burpee company’s [MOU1] collection at AAG: the firm’s contest materials and its legal records. The contest letters demonstrate the ways in which the firm interacted with customers, continuously innovating their approach so that mutual benefits between the company and its customers progressed over time. And then legal records shed light on legal battles and legislative discussions that dealt with copyright and trademark laws, which are snapshots of moments of innovation for the gardening enterprise.
