Biographical/Historical note
Susan Crowder (b. 1943) is an American artist who is best known for her site-specific sculpture. Her art, which draws on the imagery of formal gardens, incorporates both architectural forms and organic materials. Crowder's work is included in the permanent collections of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Laumeier Museum and Sculpture Park, and the National Museum of Women in the Arts, among other museums.
