Biographical / Historical
Helen Eitel Rollins (1924-2009) of York Harbor, Maine, was a member of the Piscataqua Garden Club and a driving force behind the creation of The Garden Club of America's Slide Library of Notable American Parks and Gardens which later became the core of The Garden Club of America Collection at the Smithsonian's Archives of American Gardens. In addition to her extensive work on behalf of The Garden Club of America, Rollins served on several boards including the Dover Children's Home, St. Thomas Episcopal Church, the Guild of Strawbery Banke, Piscataqua Garden Club, Old York Historical Society, York Hospital, St. George's Church, and Trinity Church.
