- At the time this photo was taken the Pitfour Estate was owned by George Arthur Ferguson (1835-1924), the 6th Laird of Pitfour. His wife was Nina Maria Hood, whose brother, Sir Alexander Nelson Hood (1854-1937), was the 5th Duke of Bronte. He and his home in Taormina, Sicily, appear in images AUT028 and AUT040.
