The garden that is located in Seattle Washington, is a very new addition to the Smith household. All the work and progress of my family’s garden started around late 2018 when we first moved into our new house. While the house was built in 1909 and prior to my family living here there was a thriving garden, filled with blooming flowers and saplings, but over the years the garden lost its luster. Most of the early garden work was done by a man who was housed during World War I, but in later years the garden had become unkempt. My family’s recent change in residence became a new hope for the garden. The new additions to the garden include new stairs, a new wall preventing erosion, as well as many new plants. Almost forgot to add the addition of a bee colony. While the work is just beginning, I am amazed by the progress of two years and hope to see new things coming soon. The covid-19 pandemic has really shown me what free time is able to accomplish.
