In 2018, Smithsonian Gardens developed its first interpretive master plan. The plan assesses how Smithsonian Gardens’ strategic plan and programs aligns with its vision for a new, multi-year exhibition series. It establishes the goals and objectives of the series; identifies stakeholders and audiences; develops key messages and critical questions; and identifies programing opportunities for the series. Additionally, the plan establishes interpretive strategies for Smithsonian Gardens’ inaugural exhibition, HABITAT (2019-2020).
