Eastgate Community Garden creation 2024
In 2020 a group of neighbors formed in North Hills to promote a healthier Raleigh through Community Gardening. Today, we maintain the growth of vegetables and use native plants (ONLY) for pollinating. We distribute produce locally in Raleigh, NC and organically grow on under-utilized green space. We foster community involvement through positive interaction with neighbors, annual Plant Exchange & Canned Food Drive, and a 4-H club for youth education curriculum.
Our green space is Raleigh City property! This is the first time in known history that the City of Raleigh has allowed community gardening on its land. The Hollows Community Garden is the group who maintains this public garden.
